Nurse Practitioners

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners see a wide variety of acute illnesses and health problems. They will make an assessment, which may include a physical examination, make a diagnosis and decide with the patient on an appropriate course of treatment or on a management plan. This may include advice, referral for further investigation, an appropriate prescription, or referral to another member of the medical team.

Practice Management

We take management very seriously at Measham. If the management is right, then everything flows smoothly and the doctors are freed from hassle, so that they are able to devote their energies to looking after patients. However good management doesn’t just happen; it takes huge amounts of hard work and energy. We are incredibly lucky to have a loyal and hardworking team, with a very low staff turnover.

Reception

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Secretaries

Our secretaries are the main link between the clinicians and the hospital or other services. Secretaries are responsible for all referrals, typing of all correspondence, managing documentation requests or completing of forms and managing the outgoing post. Secretaries would be the main point of contact for anything administrative regarding hospital appointments.

Clinical Pharmacist

Clinical Pharmacists work in surgeries managing medication queries, advising on side effects and stock availability issues along with managing various things such Menopause and HRT and sometimes Blood Pressure. They also manage the medication change request that are sent to us from the hospital after your appointment. Clinical Pharmacists work very differently to Pharmacists in a chemist who oversee the issuing of prescribed medication. Anthony is a prescribing pharmacist so can issue and sign his own prescriptions.
