Swine Flu

Swine Influenza

If you are a traveller returning from an affected area you should monitor your health closely for 7 days following your trip. If you feel ill with fever and other influenza like symptoms, such as generalised aches and pains, cough and sore throat, you should stay at home and telephone your Doctor on: 01530 270667 or NHS Direct 0845 46 47 for advice.

Anyone developing symptoms suggestive of influenza such as those above, are advised to consult a Doctor for advice.

If you think you have Swine Flu, please try not to spread the virus, by staying at home and avoiding public places, including the Doctor’s Surgery.

It is good practice to follow good hygiene practices:

  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneeze using a tissue when possible

  • Dispose of dirty tissues promptly and carefully

  • Maintain good basic hygiene e.g. frequent hand washing with soap and water to reduce the spread of the virus from your hands to your face or to other people

  • Clean hard surfaces e.g. door handles frequently with a normal cleaning product

Make sure that your children follow this advice
