The Measham Medical Unit Patients Amenity Fund has, for over 30 years
had money donated by grateful patients, their relatives and friends.
Out of this fund many items of equipment have been purchased and lent
out to our patients, sometimes this equipment is not always returned. If
you have borrowed something in the past, can we ask you to check your
shelves, cupboards and garages to see if you have inadvertently put an
item of equipment away when it was no longer required. Some of the items
missing are nebulisers, BLOOD Pressure monitors, TENS machines
wheelchairs. If you find you still have any items borrowed from the
Unit, we would be very grateful to have them returned, in order that
many more patients may have the benefit of their use. Thank you.
Intercare is a charity that collects unwanted returned prescription medicines, which are at least fifteen months in date. The charity distributes them free of charge to a network of 100 English speaking health centres in Africa. These clinics serve an estimated population of over 2.5 million people who cannot afford and do not have access to the basic medicines we take for granted. The medical unit has been donating to this very worthwhile charity for several years, and has recently sent them two redundant sterilisers.
We are sending £190.00 to UNICEF for the Haiti Disaster Fund. This money has been donated by staff and patients.
Our “remember me” tree was popular again this Christmas. We raised a total of £110 which we divided between the Birmingham Children’s Hospital charity and The British Lung Foundation. Click HERE to read the 2 thank you letters we received from the charities.
The doctors and staff of Measham Medical Unit would like to thank you for your continued support and generosity.
